Guide: OSRS Bludgeon vs Scythe for The Nightmare Boss
The Nightmare has been added to Old School RS as a new boss. As both the scythe of vitur and the abyssal bludgeon OSRS can be useful, here is a guide to help you decide which one to use for the new boss.
Basics of the abyssal bludgeon OSRS
The abyssal bludgeon is a two-handed crush weapon requiring Level 70 Attack and Strength to equip. It can be created by having The Overseer combine components: the bludgeon axon, bludgeon claw and bludgeon spine.
Only aggressive attacks are available when using the bludgeon OSRS (regardless of which attack style is selected). Its special attack Penance can increase damage dealt by 0.5% for every prayer point that the wielder is missing, which consumes 50% of the wielder's special attack energy.
Basics of OSRS scythe of vitur
The scythe OSRS requires 75 Attack and Strength to wield. It is a rare drop from the Theatre of Blood.
The scythe can hit up to 3 enemies once in a 1x3 arc. Each hit can also hit large creatures up to 3 times in the same attack. Each hit is rolled independently for accuracy and damage, but the second hit deals 50% of normal damage and the third deals 25%.
Bludgeon or Scythe for The nightmare?
In terms of DPS, scythe is decisively better than bludgeon when fighting against the nightmare OSRS boss. However, the tradeable abyssal bludgeon is relatively easier to obtain. You can choose which one to use based on your own conditions.
