Items Required

How to Start the Quest

If using:

· Fairy ring AIP, head slightly east.

· Feldip Hills teleport, head northeast.

· Ring of dueling (Castle Wars), run southeast.

Speak with Rantz and choose to help him hunt Chompy birds. Congratulations, the quest has now officially started!

Step 1: Crafting Ogre Arrows

Now that the quest is underway, you need to help Rantz craft suitable ammunition. Here's how:

1. Chop Achey Trees southwest of Rantz's hut.

2. Use a knife on the Achey logs to make Ogre arrow shafts.

3. Use feathers on the shafts to make flighted ogre arrows.

4. Use a chisel on wolf bones to make wolfbone arrow tips.

5. Combine the arrow tips with flighted arrows to create full Ogre arrows.

6. Hand 6 Ogre arrows to Rantz.

Note: You'll need around 5–10 arrows later, so craft extra while you're here.

Step 2: Learn the Ways of Chompy Hunting

After handing over the arrows, talk to Rantz and go through all five of the required dialogue options:

· “How do we make the Chompies come?”

· “What are Faty Toes?”

· “Where do we put the Faty Toes?”

· “What do you mean ‘sneaky sneaky stick to Chompy'?”

· “Okay thanks.”

Step 3: Get the Ogre Bellows

Now it's time to retrieve the Ogre Bellows, used to prepare bait.

1. Run north to the nearby cave entrance.

2. Inside, speak with Feygan or Bug, the ogres inside.

3. Go to the northwest corner of the cave and unlock the chest (you may need to try a few times to remove the rock).

4. Search the chest and take the Ogre Bellows.

Step 4: Inflate Toads

Now, let's make some bloated toads—Chompy bait!

1. Exit the cave and head southwest to the bubbling swamp.

2. Use the Ogre Bellows on the bubbles to fill them with gas (3 charges).

3. Click on three swamp toads to inflate them, turning them into bloated toads.

Be cautious of aggressive ogres and wolves nearby. The west side of the swamp is safer.

Step 5: Attract and Hunt a Chompy

With bait ready and arrows equipped:

1. Run east back to Rantz.

2. Ensure you have at least 5 Ogre arrows.

3. Speak with Rantz, then run south to the flashing arrow marker.

4. Drop 2 bloated toads at the hunting site.

5. Run back north and speak with Rantz again.

6. Wait a bit—eventually, a Chompy bird will spawn.

7. Rantz will attempt to shoot the Chompy and miss, blaming you, of course.

8. Speak to him and ask:

  · “Come on, let me have a go!”

  · “I'm quite strong—please let me try!”

He'll give you the Ogre Bow.

1. If the Chompy is still there, kill it. If not, drop your third bloated toad and wait for another spawn.

2. Use the Ogre Bow and arrows to kill the Chompy, then:

  · Pluck it

  · Take the raw Chompy meat

Step 6: Cook the Perfect Chompy Meal

Once you've got the Chompy meat:

1. Speak to Rantz again. He'll tell you one random ingredient he wants added to the Chompy meal.

2. Run north into the cave and talk to Feygan and Bug to learn the two other ingredients needed.

3. Gather the three required ingredients. If you've already brought all six possible items, you're good to go!

4. Just south of the cave entrance is an Ogre spit roast.

5. Use the raw Chompy on it to cook a seasoned Chompy (the three ingredients will automatically be used).

If you're missing ingredients, you can find them nearby. Here's where:

· Onions: North of the cave, near the field

· Cabbages and tomatoes: Just west of the quest area

· Potatoes: Further west near the farming patch

· Equa leaves and Doogle leaves: In the jungle and grass patches south of the cave
