OSRS Scrambled Quest Guide
Aug-15-2025 PSTIf you're looking for a fun and rewarding quest in Old School RuneScape (OSRS), Scrambled is a great choice. This quest offers valuable experience in three important skills — Construction, Cooking, and Smithing — plus a unique pet egg reward and a quest point. Below, you'll find everything you need to know to complete Scrambled quickly and efficiently.
Quest Overview and Rewards
Scrambled grants the following upon completion:
· 5,000 Construction experience
· 5,000 Cooking experience
· 5,000 Smithing experience
· A special pet egg — a cute, wieldable item you can carry or add to your POH Menagerie
· 1 Quest Point
Requirements to Begin
Before starting Scrambled, make sure you have completed the Children of the Sun quest. Additionally, you will need the following skill levels:
· 38 Construction
· 36 Cooking
· 35 Smithing
· Recommended: 50 Combat (to handle the fights you'll face)
· Recommended: 43 Prayer (to access protection prayers during combat)
Combat Challenges
During the quest, you will face three combat encounters:
1. Level 16 Chicken
2. Level 88 Black Jaguar
3. Level 106 Red Dragon
The red dragon can be safely spotted using a specific location in the dungeon, making that fight much easier. The jaguar cannot be safely spotted, but only uses melee attacks, so using Protect from Melee prayer helps a lot. The chicken is relatively straightforward for most players.
Recommended Items
Most quest items can be obtained as you go, but bringing some extras can save OSRS gold, time and make combat easier:
· Two regular planks (to save time repairing the cart)
· Anti-dragon shield or anti-fire potion (for safely passing aggressive dragons)
· One stamina potion (to help with running around the quest areas)
· Weapon, armor, and 4-10 food (more food if your Prayer level is below 43)
· Teleport (any convenient teleport after completing the quest)
Getting to Taio Temple — Quest Start Location
Scrambled begins at Taio Temple, north of Taekclan and northwest of the Tati Rainforest in Valamore. Several travel options are available depending on your progress:
· If you've completed Twilight's Promise, use Civotus Ilfortus teleport to Valamore, then run northeast and take your Quzel travel to the western Taekclan, then north to the temple.
· If you've completed Fairy Tale Part II, use the fairy ring code AIS, run southwest then south to the river transport sign, take the river boat to Taekclan, and run northwest to the temple.
· Without teleports, start from Varac to Valamore, run west then northwest to the Quakari Gorge, use the mountain guide to reach Orbin Veil, then head southeast to the river transport sign, take the boat to Taekclan, and run northwest to the temple.
Quest Walkthrough
1. Meet Allan and the Egg
Start by talking to Allan at the temple. He's obsessed with his egg, and after some chat, you'll witness the egg cracking and breaking. Inspect it to confirm.
2. Rally the Town's Help
Exit south to Taekclan and visit the bar. Speak to King, the bartender and then find a caten in the bar who will help only if you get his axe back.
3. Repair the Axe and Gather Supplies
· Head southwest to the blacksmith building.
· Take the hammer and repair the wet stone.
· Repair the caten's axe using the wet stone.
· Grab 20 nails from the northern workbench.
· Pick up a saw and an empty bowl from the building just south.
Return to the bar, give the axe back to the caten, who will join to help at the temple.
4. Help Nees Ketty with Tea
At the temple altar, talk to Nees Ketty, who wants tea. Get an empty teacup, fill a bowl with water from the pump, and pick Damiana leaves near a damaged cart outside town. Make damana tea using the oven and tea leaves, then serve it to Nees Ketty.
5. Repair Kua Odel's Racing Cart
Help Kua Odel fix his cart. Use nails and planks (bring your own or pick them near hippos). After fixing it, Kua also joins to help at the temple.
6. Collect the Three Eggs
You now need to collect eggs from three creatures:
· Chicken Egg: Find large white eggs on a farm south of the temple. Defeat the level 16 chicken that attacks you, then collect the egg.
· Dragon Egg: Enter the dungeon across the river with anti-dragon protection. Head to the southeastern corner to fight a level 106 red dragon. This dragon can be safely spotted by standing east of the eggs. Defeat it, then take the dragon egg.
· Jaguar Egg: East of the cave exit, find a tent surrounded by aggressive black jaguars. Protect from Melee prayer is essential here. Defeat the level 88 jaguar and collect the egg.
7. Return to the Temple and Puzzle Time
Bring all three eggs back to the temple top and hand them to Nez Ketty, Kua, and the caten. After a cutscene, all three eggs break, triggering a jigsaw puzzle.
The Puzzle Challenge
The puzzle pieces are shuffled uniquely for every player. The goal is to recreate a picture by rotating and moving the pieces:
· Click pieces to rotate them.
· Drag and drop to move them.
· Pieces snap into place when correctly oriented and positioned.
· Focus on the colorful pieces first (eyes and mouth), then use the gradient of the eggs to assemble the rest.
This puzzle can be tricky, but patience and the snapping mechanic help you make steady progress.
Quest Completion and Final Rewards
Once the puzzle is complete, a final cutscene plays where Allan tries to start a new life with the egg, but hilariously falls down the temple. Then the quest finishes, and you receive:
· 5,000 Construction experience
· 5,000 Cooking experience
· 5,000 Smithing experience
· Your very own wieldable pet egg
· 1 Quest Point
You can talk to your pet egg on the wall, pick it up to carry around, or place it in your POH Menagerie for everyone to admire.
Final Tips
· Bring plenty of food if you don't have access to protection prayers.
· Use anti-fire or anti-dragon protection during the dragon encounter for safety.
· Keep stamina potions handy for quick running between quest locations.
· The puzzle is unique to you, so take your time and use the snapping feature to help guide you.
Scrambled offers a balanced mix of combat, skilling, and puzzle-solving, making it a fun and rewarding quest in OSRS. With great experience rewards and a unique pet, it's worth adding to your quest log!
