OSRS Skotizo Guide
Sep-26-2025 PSTSkotizo is a demonic mid-level boss located beneath the Catacombs of Kourend in Hosidius. This powerful foe offers unique rewards, including rare drops like the Skotizo pet, Dark Claw, and Ancient Shards, making him a prime target for experienced players looking for high-value loot. This guide covers how to prepare, fight, and farm Skotizo efficiently.
Summoning Skotizo
To initiate the fight, you need a Dark Totem, which is consumed when used on the altar immediately after entering the Catacombs of Kourend.
How to Get a Dark Totem
A Dark Totem is crafted by combining three pieces: Base, Middle, and Top. These pieces drop from almost every monster within the catacombs, excluding ghosts. Superior Slayer monsters guarantee a totem piece upon defeat.
· Totem pieces drop in a specific order: Base → Middle → Top, looping after completion.
· You can farm pieces more efficiently by doing Slayer tasks inside the catacombs and unlocking Superior monsters.
· No task is required to obtain totem pieces from monsters in the Catacombs.
Alternatively, players can farm Hill Giants, Moss Giants, and Fire Giants in the Giant’s Den west of Shayzien near the lake. Unlike the Catacombs, you can use a cannon in the Giant’s Den, making it an AFK-friendly method for collecting totem pieces.

Fighting Skotizo
Once in the arena:
1. Use your Dark Totem on the altar to start the fight.
2. Prayer Setup:
· Pray Mage while approaching Skotizo initially.
· Switch to Protect from Melee (or Piety) when attacking.
· Switch back to Mage when moving away from him.
Key Mechanics

· Switch to Mage when destroying altars, then back to Melee to continue DPS.
· Reanimated Demon Spawns & Ankou: Skotizo can summon these minions, but they cannot harm you if you keep Protect from Melee active.
· Health & Prayer Management:
· Keep HP above ~30.
· Drink prayer potions when necessary.
· Use stamina potions to maintain movement and positioning.

Skotizo drops a variety of valuable items:
Guaranteed & Common Drops:
· Hard Clue Scroll (if not already in bank)
· 1–5 Ancient Shards (drop rate ~1 in 1.3)

Tips for Efficient Skotizo Farming
1. Combine Slayer Tasks with Totem Farming: Maximizes efficiency for obtaining totem pieces and Ancient Shards.
2. Bring Arclight: No alternative weapon comes close in efficiency against Skotizo.
3. Manage Altars Carefully: Prevent all four from spawning at once to maintain DPS.
4. AFK Options: Giant’s Den with cannon use is a reliable AFK method for totem pieces.
5. Prayer and Stamina Monitoring: Keep potions ready to maintain maximum DPS and mobility.
Skotizo offers an engaging mid-level boss fight with rewarding loot for prepared players. With enough OSRS gold, the right gear, and an understanding of his mechanics, defeating him will be a smooth and profitable experience.
