RS 3 Archaeology Guide: 1-99 & 120 for 2024

Jun-13-2024 PST

Hey guys, welcome to my comprehensive guide on leveling Archaeology from 1 to 99 and eventually 120 in RS 3. Grab your cup of tea, sit back, relax, and enjoy the guide. If you’re looking for something specific, check the description below for all the timestamps.

Useful Experience Boosts and Items

As of now, there are no experience boosts available for Archaeology due to a grace period. However, six months from now, these boosts should be active. Useful items that can aid your Archaeology training include:

1. Grace of the Elves: This item is crucial for extra Seren spirits that spawn, offering a chance at Nature’s Gift. More importantly, it allows you to charge it with 500 Porters, which send gathered materials to your bank.

2. Waterfiend Familiar: This familiar has a 5% chance to duplicate any resource or artifact you gain and store it in its 20 inventory slots.

3. Skilled Chompas: These give you 10% extra experience on successful excavations and 5% on failures, though they can be costly at around 2,000 per hour.

4. Ring of Whispers: Provides an invisible +3 Archaeology boost, increasing your chance of successful excavations.

5. Invention Perks: Various perks can be put on augmented mattocks to increase efficiency and training speed.

6. Capes: Capes like the Slayer and Dungeoneering capes are useful for reaching material caches.

Levels 1-99 Overview

Understanding Archaeology Mechanics

Precision and focus are key in Archaeology. Precision determines the rate at which you excavate, while focus affects the rate of material finds. Higher-tier mattocks provide better precision and focus, making training more efficient. You will also need to complete achievements at levels 5, 40, 70, 90, and 99 to advance your qualifications and unlock more upgrades and research team access.
