The Fast OSRS Strength & Attack Training Guide 2025

Mar-14-2025 PST

In this guide, I will show you five ways to train Strength and Attack in OSRS using one of the most effective methods. These methods range from minimal effort with decent experience rates to maximum effort with incredibly high experience gains. The core of this training method events, are often referred to as "gangs."

Why This Method is So Good

This method's primary source of experience comes from participating in organized crime events, which occur every 25 minutes. These events last only five minutes, but within that time frame, you can gain up to 75,000 experiences. The best part? The other 50 minutes between these events can be used to train another skill, making this a highly efficient strategy. With optimal efficiency, you can reach over 300,000 combat XP per hour.

Even if you only focus on the bare minimum of engaging in two five-minute runs per hour, you can still gain 170,000 XP per hour. That means if you grind for about six hours, you can reach 1 million experiences with minimal effort.

Jagex's Changes to Organized Crime

Previously, gangs would spawn on different worlds at different times, allowing players to continuously farm them if they managed world hopping efficiently. However, Jagex made a significant change without an official blog post: now, once a gang event has been completed, it disappears from all worlds for the next 25 minutes. This means you can only engage in this method for 10 minutes per hour. However, the experience rates are still exceptional.

The Five Training Methods

Below are five different methods to train Strength and Attack using this technique. You can mix and match based on your preference, time commitment, and available resources.

1. The AFK Method – Minimal Effort (~170K XP per hour)

This method involves only participating in organized crime events every 25 minutes. You simply show up, kill the gang members and bosses, and then take a break for the next 20-25 minutes. The experience rates are still high, making it a perfect method if you want to watch a movie or do something else in between sessions.

2. The Semi-AFK Method – Combining with Passive Training (~250K XP per hour)

In this method, you still focus on gangs every 25 minutes, but during the downtime, you engage in another semi-AFK training method, such as:

Nightmare Zone (NMZ): Absorption potions and Dharok's armor can help maximize XP.

• Sand Crabs/Rock Crabs: Low-effort Strength and Attack training.

• Soul Wars: If you're training Strength without Hitpoints XP.

By doing this, you optimize your time spent in OSRS and significantly boost your XP rates.

3. The Efficient Method – Maximizing XP (~300K XP per hour)

To truly push your XP rates to the next level, you'll want to maximize your damage output during the five-minute gang events. Here's how:

• Use Chinchompas (45+ Range required): Explosive damage clears out enemies quickly.

• Use Ice Barrage: Effective if you have high Magic levels.

• Use Venator Bow or Blowpipe: If you can't afford Chins, a Venator Bow is a solid alternative.

• Cannon + Magic Shortbow (MSB) Combo: For Ironmen who lack Chinchompas.

With these methods, you can clear gangs faster, hop worlds more efficiently, and increase your XP per hour.

4. The Sweaty Method – No Downtime (~350K XP per hour)

For those who want to push the limits, you can use the 50 minutes of downtime to train using an active, high-XP method such as:

• Slayer: Combines training with profit.

• Bossing: Killing bosses that grant Strength XP.

• High-Level NMZ: Aggressive Dharok training while waiting for gangs to spawn.

This method is perfect if you want to achieve rapid XP gains in the shortest amount of time.

5. The Ultimate Method – Hardcore XP Grinding (~400K XP per hour)

This approach requires full optimization and the fastest execution of gang kills combined with aggressive XP training between events. This includes:

• Using all the plugins listed below.

• Perfectly hopping between worlds.

• Using the best-in-slot weapons and gear.

• No wasted time during the five-minute gang fights.

With perfect execution, some players have reported hitting up to 400,000 XP per hour, which is unheard of for Strength and Attack training.

    • Use the World Hopper Plugin to instantly switch worlds.

    • Rinse and repeat until the five-minute window expires.
