The Ultimate AFK OSRS Agility Training Method in 2025
Mar-07-2025 PSTAgility is one of the most tedious and click-intensive skills in OSRS. While it provides useful benefits such as faster run energy regeneration, many players dread training it due to its repetitive nature. However, there is an AFK (away-from-keyboard) method that allows players to gain agility experience without constant interaction. This guide will break down how to set up this AFK agility method, including the construction requirements, the setup process, and how recent changes by Jagex have made it even better.
What is the AFK Agility Method?
This method utilizes the dungeon system within the Player-Owned House (POH), specifically the trapdoor and corridor mechanics, to create an infinite agility loop. By strategically placing teleport traps and NPCs within the dungeon, players can continuously move through a cycle, gaining agility experience passively. This method yields around 10-12K Agility XP per hour, making it an excellent option for players who want to multitask while training agility.
Requirements
Construction Level
• 80 Construction (minimum with a boost)
• 88 Construction (required to build the necessary POH features without a boost)
• Players can use a crystal saw and spicy stew to temporarily boost their Construction level if needed.
Materials Needed
• 14 Oak Planks
• Lots of Coins (~24M+)
• Crystal Saw
• Hammer
• House Teleport Runes
Other Useful Skills
• Agility Level 70+ (higher agility reduces trap failure rate, making the method more effective)
• 93+ Agility is ideal for minimizing failures and maximizing XP per hour.
Setting Up the POH Agility Course
Step 1: Build a Throne Room
1. Enter Build Mode in your house.
2. Construct a Throne Room for 150K coins.
3. Inside the Throne Room, build an Oak Lever.
4. Build a trapdoor next to the lever.
5. Activate the trapdoor to enter the dungeon level.
Step 2: Construct the Dungeon Path
1. At the base of the trapdoor, build a Corridor.
2. Follow up by constructing a Dungeon Junction.
3. At the end of the junction, build a Treasure Room.
4. Continue alternating between Corridors, Junctions, and Treasure Rooms in a zigzag pattern.
5. The more rooms you build, the longer you can AFK without interruptions.
Step 3: Adding Traps and NPCs
1. Inside each Treasure Room, build a Teleport Trap (200K per trap).
2. In the Monster Space of each Treasure Room, place a TzTok-Jad NPC (5M per boss).
3. Repeat this setup for every Treasure Room in the path.
4. This setup ensures that when players step onto a teleport trap, they are teleported to the next room, continuing the cycle endlessly.
How to Activate the AFK Agility Method
1. Ensure you have full Prayer Points.
2. Equip a Crossbow (not a longbow or T-Bow, as they have too much range).
3. Set your house to Challenge Mode:
• Enter the Throne Room.
• Use the Oak Lever to activate Challenge Mode.
4. Enter the Dungeon via the Trapdoor.
5. Begin the Loop:
• Attack the Jad NPC in the first Treasure Room.
• This will pull you over the Teleport Trap, sending you to the next room.
• Repeat indefinitely.
How Jagex Improved This Method
Originally, players were limited by the number of rooms they could place in their house. However, Jagex recently increased the maximum room limit to 38 at 99 Construction. This allows players to extend their dungeon further, making the method even more AFK.
Additionally, Jagex fixed a bug where players would occasionally reach a dead end in their dungeon, halting the AFK cycle. Now, the teleportation system works more consistently, ensuring players can cycle indefinitely without interruption.
Costs and Considerations
Item Cost
Throne Room 150K
Oak Lever ~10K
Trapdoor ~20K
Teleport Trap (each) 200K
TzTok-Jad (each) 5M
Total Estimated Cost ~24M+
• The more rooms you build, the higher the cost.
• Agility XP scales with dungeon length – longer dungeons allow for longer AFK sessions.
• Higher Agility levels reduce failure rates, leading to better XP per hour.
XP Rates and AFK Time
• Agility XP per hour: 10,000 – 12,000 XP
• AFK time before resets:
• At 38 rooms (99 Construction): ~15 minutes AFK time
• At 34 rooms (lower Construction levels): ~10-12 minutes AFK time
Final Thoughts
This AFK Agility method is one of the best ways to train agility passively in OSRS. While the setup requires a significant investment in Construction and OSRS gold, the ability to train agility without constant attention makes it a valuable option for players who want to multitask.
Pros:
✅ Completely AFK ✅ Consistent XP without clicking ✅ Jagex improvements made the method even better ✅ A viable alternative to rooftop courses
Cons:
❌ High setup cost (~24M+) ❌ Requires Construction boosting for some players ❌ Lower XP rates compared to conventional methods
If you're looking for a semi-passive way to level agility while working on other tasks, this method is a great choice. With Jagex increasing the room limit, it's now more efficient and AFK-friendly than ever before!
